What else should you know about our school? |
Doherty Memorial High School is the largest comprehensive high school in Worcester serving a diverse student population and offering a rigorous college and career preparatory program. In the class of 2016 55% of students went on to attend four year colleges, 31% went on to two year colleges, 2 % attended postsecondary /trade schools and 12% entered the military. In the class of 2017, 114 students were awarded John and Abigail Adams Scholarships. Doherty offers a wide range of programs including the Engineering and Technology Academy (ETA), Virtual High School (VHS) and its expanded foreign language department which offers French, Spanish, Latin and Mandarin at multiple levels. Doherty offers 21 Advanced Placement Course and during the 2015-2016 school year administered 482 AP exams on which 48% of the students earned a qualifying score of 3 or higher. Students at Doherty have the opportunity to participate in a Dual Enrollment program at these area colleges: Assumption College, Becker College, College of the Holy Cross, Quinsigamond Community College and Worcester State University. |
