Annual Goals

This report lists the annual improvement goals reported to ESE in the educator preparation program provider’s state annual report. Providers may report up to three goals for the upcoming year and are asked to report on progress made toward the prior year’s goals. Annual goals are reported in May of the academic year listed.

Annual Goals - 2018
Goal #1 Increase number of pre-practicum hours at the graduate level in direct response to feedback from public school partners related to continuity and readiness for practicum.
Goal #2 Design and offer MTEL preparation courses specifically targeting paraprofessional Pathway participants to support future candidates of color at program admission.
Goal #3 Explore and design a Para to Teacher Futures program for the Amherst public schools in direct response to expressed district need. The goal is to enroll para educators of color from Amherst beginning in summer 2018.

Annual Goals - 2017
Goal #1 Sustain increased enrollment in STEM and arts programs.
Goal #2 Broaden and formalize partnerships with higher ed partners (including community colleges), local school districts, and regional career centers to create a paraprofessional pipeline to diversify the teacher workforce.
Goal #3 Increase frequency and effectiveness of training and support for supervising practitioners and program supervisors based on feedback from the field and guidance from DESE.

Annual Goals - 2016
Goal #1 Continue to support and increase enrollment in STEM and Arts UG and PB programs.
Goal #2 Launch a partnership with a K-12 urban district (Holyoke) to provide a pathway for teachers on waivers and para-educators to receive initial licensure in general education and moderate disabilities.
Goal #3 Fully align all coursework and field experiences to the new PST across all programs.
