Annual Goals

This report lists the annual improvement goals reported to ESE in the educator preparation program provider’s state annual report. Providers may report up to three goals for the upcoming year and are asked to report on progress made toward the prior year’s goals. Annual goals are reported in May of the academic year listed.

Annual Goals - 2016
Goal #1 Continue to support and increase enrollment in STEM and Arts UG and PB programs.
Goal #2 Launch a partnership with a K-12 urban district (Holyoke) to provide a pathway for teachers on waivers and para-educators to receive initial licensure in general education and moderate disabilities.
Goal #3 Fully align all coursework and field experiences to the new PST across all programs.

Annual Goals - 2015
Goal #1 Continue to work with STEM departments and increase enrollments in the STEM licensure areas.
Goal #2 In response to district needs, develop and launch ELL internship opportunities.
Goal #3 Partner with local school districts to design and offer special education courses and field experiences.

Progress Toward Goals - 2015
Goal #1 We were successful in increasing enrollment in the STEM licensure areas. This academic year we will endorse 2 Biology, 1 Earth Science, 1 Physics, and 1 Math candidate.
Goal #2 After completing a substantial 150 hour ELL internship, four MAT candidates will apply for an ESL license in 2016.
Goal #3 We developed a special education module with public school partner support. We currently have 11 candidates enrolled in coursework and internships to meet the requirements of the special education add on license.

Annual Goals - 2014
Goal #1 To develop and launch the early childhood and elementary masters in the art of teaching program.
Goal #2 Increase STEM candidates in undergraduate and post graduate programs.
Goal #3 Better collaboration with local districts and improved alignment of programming with district needs in mind.

Progress Toward Goals - 2014
Goal #1 Enrolled 1 early childhood and 6 elementary candidates in the MAT program, and endorsed 6 elementary program completers.
Goal #2 Enrolled and endorsed 2 mathematics and 1 biology candidate, an increase from the previous year.
Goal #3 Worked with local school districts to identify needs and began initial development of coursework and internship opportunities.
