Admissions Requirements

Below is a summary of admissions requirements for educator preparation programs at the baccalaureate and post-baccalaureate levels followed by a more detailed description of admissions requirements. All information is reported by the educator preparation provider.

Description of Admissions Requirements

Baccalaureate Programs:
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
(1) Completion of or current enrollment in two foundational courses: Educ 167 (Educational Psychology) and Educ 169 (Schooling in the United States), earning at least a B;
(2) GPA of 3.0 or higher in the major of the license sought (e.g. Mathematics); and
(3) Overall GPA of 3.0 or higher
Holy Cross students who meet the above requirements may apply to the Teacher Education Program.
Applications are reviewed by the Director of the TEP, the academic department liaison, the student?s instructors for the foundational courses, and a WPS representative from our Governance Committee.
Qualified students are invited to interview with the Director of the TEP to assess their maturity, interest level, and commitment to the program. The interview also includes an opportunity to further discuss the program and its requirements.
