Annual Goals

This report lists the annual improvement goals reported to ESE in the educator preparation program provider’s state annual report. Providers may report up to three goals for the upcoming year and are asked to report on progress made toward the prior year’s goals. Annual goals are reported in May of the academic year listed.

Annual Goals - 2021
Goal #1 To continue refinement of instructional practices for teacher candidate success, including (a) systematic review of course outcomes and syllabi, and (b) expanded orientation and training opportunities for faculty.
Goal #2 To create organizational procedure and practices to enhance performance supporting candidate success focused on: (a) development of consistent procedural practices, (b) handbooks to support consistency in faculty practices, and (c) efficiencies in services and licensure processes
Goal #3 To assess the effectiveness of the enhanced structure of the practicum experience focused on: (a)development of the tiered support through the Senior Instructor/Program Supervisor, Program Supervisor, and Supervising Practitioner, and (b) structured CAP Seminar, and (c) student feedback.

Annual Goals - 2020
Goal #1 Create organizational structure for enhanced performance supporting candidate success focused on: (a) program/instructional effectiveness; (b) assessment for continuous improvement; and (c) efficiencies in services, licensure processes.
Goal #2 Cultivate the next generation of highly diverse teachers/leaders in urban centers reflective of (and responsive to) all learners in communities served through: (a) intentional selection of partnerships serving diverse populations (e.g., Springfield Public Schools); (b) campus/ community outreach, and (c) investment in personnel deeply committed to AIC Mission and unit-vision for access, opportunity, and diversity.
Goal #3 Implement continuous improvement of instructional practices for candidate success, including (a) systematic review of course outcomes and syllabi; (b) adoption of new course evaluation tool with feedback loops on instructional practices aligned with learning outcomes/course objectives, and (c) 100% of faculty assigned effectively trained on the pedagogical applications of technology and Learning Management Systems (LMS) applicable to both F2F and virtual teaching/learning.

Annual Goals - 2019
Goal #1 80% of candidates will agree they are receiving targeted feedback that helps improve their practice in becoming effective educators. Baseline data 78.7% 2018-2019.
Goal #2 80% of candidates will show agreement they are receiving effective advisement. Baseline data 72.99% in 2018-2019.
Goal #3 80% of candidates will show agreement that faculty/instructors model effective pedagogical and content practices in the discipline (including strategies to meet the needs of diverse learners). Baseline data 77.8% 2018-2019
