Annual Goals

This report lists the annual improvement goals reported to ESE in the educator preparation program provider’s state annual report. Providers may report up to three goals for the upcoming year and are asked to report on progress made toward the prior year’s goals. Annual goals are reported in May of the academic year listed.

Annual Goals - 2017
Goal #1 Establish partnership schools and recruit new mentor teachers for the new Bachelor of Arts in Education degree Elementary and Moderate Disabilities.
Goal #2 Develop a technology education plan for all initial licensure programs that ensures candidates can effectively utilize appropriate tools and applications.
Goal #3 Revise surveys sent to completers, supervising practitioners and employers to ensure that we gather data on the impact of our completers on student learning.

Annual Goals - 2016
Goal #1 Increase diversity in initial teacher preparation programs through focused recruitment efforts at the undergraduate level.
Goal #2 Extend and build an induction program for newly-licensed and aspiring administrators in three partner districts.
Goal #3 Establish expectations for successful practicum experiences by developing a calibration protocol for Program Supervisors and Supervising Practitioners.

Progress Toward Goals - 2016
Goal #1 The GSE has seen increases in the diversity of its undergraduate programs: 34% of education minor students and 26% of the UTEACH students are racially and ethnically diverse.
Goal #2 Through the School Leadership Institute, developed and launched an induction/mentoring program with 5 partner districts for aspiring and new administrators.
Goal #3 Prior to each semester, provided working sessions for calibration training using the Candidate Assessment of Performance guidelines to educate Program Supervisors and Supervising Practitioners from partner districts.

Annual Goals - 2015
Goal #1 Fully implement the professional standards for teachers into initial licensure programs.
Goal #2 Provide more training and support for supervising practitioners and program supervisors that will effectively impact the learning experience of our candidates in the practicum.
Goal #3 Build a residency program for elementary candidates at a high need school in collaboration with district/school partners

Progress Toward Goals - 2015
Goal #1 All licensure programs (Initial and Reading) have implemented the PST's into their coursework and field experiences. Evidence is in updated syllabi.
Goal #2 The Field Experience Coordinator developed and delivered three hour CAP training workshops (three hours each) in September and January for Program Supervisors and Supervising Practitioners. A total of 33 Supervising Practitioners and 6 Program Supervisors attended.
Goal #3 Five Elementary candidates completed a semester-long residency at the Bartlett School in Lowell in which they worked with the Special Education teacher to attain the add-on license in Moderate Disabilities.
