Annual Goals
This report lists the annual improvement goals reported to ESE in the educator preparation program provider’s state annual report. Providers may report up to three goals for the upcoming year and are asked to report on progress made toward the prior year’s goals. Annual goals are reported in May of the academic year listed.

Educator preparation program improvement goals for the upcoming program year |
| Goal #1 |
The College of Education and Allied Studies will work with the Professional Development School Advisory Council to develop individualized PDS/partnership school specific mission and goals statements for each of the nine BSU PDS sites. |
| Goal #2 |
The College of Education and Allied Studies will fully implement and evaluate a one-to-one tablet initiative for candidates admitted to educator licensing programs. The initiative will include a specified tablet requirement for each candidate and all CEAS full-time faculty, professional development for faculty and students related to using the tablet as an instructional resource, and assessment projects related to the efficacy of tablet usage on initial teacher performance and impact on student learning outcomes. |

The College of Education and Allied Studies will review the Educator Preparation Program (unit) mission and goals and align them with newly revised mission, vision and values developed by the university during the 2013-14 academic year with a special focus on the University?s commitment to diversity. |

| Goal #1 |
The BSU College of Education and Allied Studies will develop and implement the SEI program for all preservice teacher education candidates (core and non-core)for implementation during the 2013-2014 academic year. |

The BSU College of Education and Allied Studies will develop and implement the SEI program for preservice principal and supervisor/director candidates for implementation during the 2013-2014 academic year. |

The BSU College of Education and Allied Studies will collaborate with the College of Graduate Studies to recruit and admit candidates to our recently approved new English as a Second Language teacher preparation program during the 2013-2014 academic year. |

| Goal #1 |
The BSU College of Education and Allied Studies developed six different sheltered English immersion courses for initial stage educator preparation programs. Syllabi and corresponding matrices for these courses were submitted for review by the MA Department of Elementary & Secondary Education in April 2013. BSU received confirmation that these courses met ESE SEI guidelines and were approved for SEI endorsement eligibility on July 2, 2013. |

The College of Education and Allied Studies developed a Sheltered English Immersion course for school administrators as a requirement for candidates enrolled in BSU school administration licensure programs. The syllabus and matrix for this course was submitted for review by the MA Department of Elementary & Secondary Education in April 2013. BSU received confirmation that this course met ESE SEI guidelines and was approved for SEI administrator endorsement eligibility on July 2, 2013. |
| Goal #3 |
BSU received program approval for a new Teacher of English as a Second Language initial stage teacher licensure program on March 21, 2013. After receiving approval, the TESOL faculty graduate coordinator worked with the Associate Director of Marketing and Recruitment in the College of Graduate Studies to develop program marketing materials for this master of education degree program. Since the program was opened for admission in September 2013, BSU has admitted nine candidates to the teacher licensure track of this program (NB. There is a non-licensure track for this master's degree program as well). |
