What else should you know about our school? |
At Francis J McGrath our focus is to ensure that all students show growth in their ability to read fluently, comprehend deeply, think critically, and respond effectively across all content areas. We work towards achieving this through our assessment practices, instructional practice and best practices: Collaborative Discussion among peers, Responding to Literature and Writing Every day. Each teacher has committed to at least two Science investigations and collaborating as a professional learning community each month to ensure all students improve in science. We have started a garden club with the Environmental Council and continue to work with the Blackstone Coalition to increase a deeper mastery of science. All teachers attend ongoing Professional Development to assist children to become proficient writers through the SRSD system. Through consistent efforts of all stakeholders, our school culture promotes respect for all and holds everyone to high expectations. Students and staff utilize the Positive Behavioral Intervention System. We all are committed to being respectful, responsible, caring and safe at all times. We continue to build and foster our community partnerships providing students and families increased supports. Our staff, students, families and community members work collaboratively to ensure a safe, welcoming and secure school for all. |
