How is our school doing overall? |
Accountability and assistance levels |
Our school |
| Among lowest performing 20% of subgroups |
Our district |
| One or more schools in the district classified into Level 3 |
Most schools are assigned a level from 1-5, with those meeting their proficiency gap-narrowing goals in Level 1 and the lowest performing in Levels 4 and 5.
A district is typically assigned a level based on the level of its lowest performing school. Placing schools and districts into levels helps districts know which schools need more support,
and helps the state know which districts need the most assistance.

What else should you know about our school? |
At the Vining, we continue to work towards improving student achievement and social emotional growth through our partnerships with Teaching and Learning Alliance, Educational Performance Systems Inc., and the May Institute. This includes job embedded professional development in the area of literacy instruction, co-teaching, and social-emotional supports. Our math and literacy coaches support student learning and staff professional practices through established professional development, with meetings every two week that focus on lesson planning, rigor, high expectations, and student outcomes. Our grade-level teachers are piloting a new science program, STEMscopes, to teach the revised standards. We continue to utilize Response to Intervention, which ensures students are getting what they need to access the curriculum and be successful. We also make use of a school-wide Positive Behavior Intervention and Support system that include proactive strategies for defining, teaching, and supporting student social emotional needs. |
