What else should you know about our school? |
Memorial School continues to utilize universal screenings with students in kindergarten through grade 4 in the areas of reading, math, and social emotional learning. The information is used in the development of instructional groups to provide remediation in the areas of letter identification, phonemic awareness, letter blending, reading fluency, and reading comprehension, mathematics, and SEL through regular education. Grade level teams meet weekly to look at student data, and smaller subsets of grade level and support staff teams set goals and provide more intensive interventions for students utilizing our child study process. All of our students participate in our RISE (Respect, Inclusivity, Safety, and Empathy) activities as part of our PBIS work. We utilize read alouds, all school meetings, mindful practices, Thrively lessons, and instruction on the Zones of Regulations to develop competency in the core areas of social and emotional learning. Staff also use Second Step to support the social and emotional growth of students. Providing staff members with training and materials to support students academic, social, emotional, and behavioral health continues to be a focus of our monthly faculty meetings.
