| Organization Description: | Worcester Academy is an urban, co-educational day and boarding prep
school
for grades 6 to 12 and a postgraduate year (five- and seven-day boarding
offered to grades 9 and up). Founded in 1834, the Academy is the oldest
independent school in Central Massachusetts. Located on a historic
campus,
it boasts excellent academics, arts, and athletics programs. Of 620
students, more than 60 are international. Among the Academy's most
famous
alumni is celebrated American songwriter Cole Porter, who was Class of
1909 valedictorian. The school motto is, "Achieve the Honorable."
