Educator preparation program improvement goals for the upcoming program year |
| Goal #1 |
In alignment with one of our required actions, we surveyed our supervising practitioners to identify their preferences for topics for support and training. The following areas were identified in order of preference: 1. Providing Objective Feedback, 2. Helping candidates establish student/client goals and monitoring progress, models of supervision (tied); 3. Coaching concerning worksite professionalism, and 4 Culturally Responsive supervision. Goal # 1 for the upcoming year is to provide PD in at least one of these areas. We are beginning with Helping candidates establish student/client goals and progress monitoring since that is also an area our graduate students need support with. |
| Goal #2 |
Students begin their structured literacy intervention in our in-house clinic. There is a misalignment between the length of sessions students plan for in our clinic (50 minutes) vs. the length of sessions in the schools (closer to 30 minutes). Goal #2 is to better prepare our candidates to continue to implement structured literacy intervention within the confines of the time limits in the public schools. |
| Goal #3 |
Goal 3 - Conduct a focus group or interviews with at least 3 supervisors to glean feedback that will inform our continuous improvement and increase the collaboration with which we evaluate our students. |
