Annual Goals
This report lists the annual improvement goals reported to ESE in the educator preparation program provider’s state annual report. Providers may report up to three goals for the upcoming year and are asked to report on progress made toward the prior year’s goals. Annual goals are reported in May of the academic year listed. Data last updated January 16, 2025.

Educator preparation program improvement goals for the upcoming program year |
Goal #1 |
Lasell's Teacher Education Program will continue to use the newly developed lesson plan format in the pre-gateway task to monitor lesson plan improvement and adoptions of SMKs, proposed PST, and CAP elements. |
Goal #2 |
Lasell's Teacher Preparation Program will expand partnerships with more school districts to attract paraprofessionals of color into our existing US Department of Education grants. |
Goal #3 |
It is the goal of Lasell's Education program to prepare educators to work with the changing demographics of students and their needs. Lasell will apply and launch a bilingual endorsement program. The goal is to provide pre-service teachers with the skills to add multiple licensure and endorsements. In addition, the Lasell Education program will also be revising the Secondary English and Secondary History programs with initial licensure 5th-12th grade to ensure that the content is aligned to the SMKs and the newly proposed PSTs. |

Educator preparation program improvement goals from the prior year |
Goal #1 |
Lasell will review, evaluate the effectiveness of the pre-gateway tasks and its connection to the full practicum CAP assessment to ensure that this tasks prepares students appropriately for the full practicum semester. Some of the analysis may identify candidates who can successfully move forward and also identify candidates who need additional time, experience, or counseling out of the program. The pre-gateway tasks will also be used as part of our Lasell University program evaluation process to identify areas in the our teacher preparation program that need to be address further or that need coherence. For example, we will be looking at whether the lesson plan and CAP observation form candidates complete address the new DESE cultural and linguistically responsive practices. |
Goal #2 |
Lasell's Education Program is looking into opening new educator preparation programs in areas of critical need. We will be evaluating state's areas of need in sciences and math. |
Goal #3 |
Lasell University will continue to review and adjust the information collected from the feedback from Supervising Practitioners and Program Supervisors on the CAP process for candidates. In particular, we are interested in asking what areas of methodology and research and evidence-based practices and experiences are missing from the current teacher preparation program to address the needs of all students. |

Goal #1 |
Lasell will continue to review the rubric for the Pre-Practicum Gateway Assessment process at both the undergraduate and graduate programs to increase coherence to program goals. |
Goal #2 |
The organization will review the pre-practicum seminar in ED 421 Curriculum Integration to coordinate and integrate more effectively the CAP process and the pre-practicum experience. |
Goal #3 |
Lasell University will develop collect feedback from Supervising Practitioners on the CAP process for candidates. In particular, we are interested in asking what areas or experiences are missing from the current experiences, what are the areas of strengths, and how can we strengthen the connection to seminar and teacher preparation courses. |
