Annual Goals

This report lists the annual improvement goals reported to ESE in the educator preparation program provider’s state annual report. Providers may report up to three goals for the upcoming year and are asked to report on progress made toward the prior year’s goals. Annual goals are reported in May of the academic year listed.
Data last updated January 16, 2025.

Annual Goals - 2024
Goal #1 Using grant funds from the Early Literacy Consortium Grant (awarded April 2024), BPU will work with identified partners in mapping curriculum to prior learning experiences and propose professional development experiences focused on literacy based on partner need.
Goal #2 Bay Path University recently acquired Cambridge College; with this acquisition, the Education departments from both organizations will work closely to identify a timeline and plan to merge programs together.
Goal #3 Bay Path University's Education department will continue to develop an Early Childhood Center for Equity model to address the ECE shortage of professionals, while increasing diverse educator candidates in the field with strong literacy training focused in evidenced based practices.

Annual Goals - 2023
Goal #1 The Educator Preparation programs at BPU were re-aligned into a new school structure as of March 1, 2023. The new School of Education, Psychology and Humanities will include both undergraduate and graduate educator preparation programs to better create pathways for students who would like to earn an initial license and consider adding a professional license as a graduate student, or a specialist or administrator license. The goal will be for the Ed Prep programs at BPU to consider additional high need license areas such as Administrator (Superintendent/Asst. Superintendent, Principal/Asst. Principal) to align with current leadership programs in education. BPU will complete a needs assessment.
Goal #2 BPU educator preparation programs will continue to make curricular revisions across all licensure programs to include anti-racist curriculum updates.
Goal #3 Utilizing the emergency license report of MA educators from DESE, BPU will initiate partnerships with districts who have emergency licensed educators that could benefit from enrolling in coursework or ed prep programs to advance their license to initial status.

Annual Goals - 2022
Goal #1 Bay Path University has developed a license only option for the Reading Specialist (all levels) endorsement option and seeks to increase enrollment for MA educators looking to advance their knowledge in the area of literacy instruction.
Goal #2 Bay Path University will make curricular adjustments to the Special Education Administrator program to align with the updated guidelines for Administrative Leaders, including anti-racist curriculum.
Goal #3 Bay Path University will begin formally recruiting and enrolling MA educators for the newly launched Transition Specialist Endorsement, beginning fall 2022.
