This report lists the annual improvement goals reported to ESE in the educator preparation program provider’s state annual report. Providers may report up to three goals for the upcoming year and are asked to report on progress made toward the prior year’s goals. Annual goals are reported in May of the academic year listed. Goal #1
The School Counseling program will be transitioning to the revised and updated School Counselor SMKs over the next academic year. Our goals are the following: a. curriculum map/review of current courses to determine how they align with updated SMKs; b. all programmatic practicum materials will be updated with new SMKs and posted; c. all programmatic materials need to be reviewed and updated with new SMKs. The School Counseling program will also review all comprehensive exam questions for alignment with updated SMKs and review existing surveys for candidates and supervisors, ensuring that updated SMKs are reflected in those materials.
Goal #2
Assumption's elementary licensure program review and act upon recommendations offered within the TPI-US Early Literacy Informal Review when Assumption receives the final report. Namely, Assumption will explore expanding field-based experiences for candidates where High-Quality Instructional Materials are used. Further, Assumption will augment the Literacy Observation Form by including more "look fors" to support supervisors and teacher candidates in early literacy instruction.
Goal #3
Through the use of expanded partnerships, the Special Education program will increase its enrollment in its newer endorsement programs. Additionally, the Special Education program will review and adapt its early literacy observation practices to align with the recommendations offered within the TPI-US Early Literacy Informal Review

Educator preparation program improvement goals from the prior year
Goal #1
The School Counseling program is transitioning to a fully online program. Goals include providing all programmatic forms for student files, available and accessible for remote completion; providing online, student accessible filing system for maintaining student files and paperwork, and developing an on-line format for communicating with students, providing resources, and sharing job opportunities.
Goal #2
Assumption will prepare elementary candidates via the EDU 325 literacy course for the foundational components of early literacy. Within the elementary practicum experience, Assumption will integrate the early literacy observation and feedback tool to support candidates' application of core literacy practices.
Goal #3
Assumption's Special Education program will expand partnerships with local districts to offer support and to collaborate on placements.
