Annual Goals
This report lists the annual improvement goals reported to ESE in the educator preparation program provider’s state annual report. Providers may report up to three goals for the upcoming year and are asked to report on progress made toward the prior year’s goals. Annual goals are reported in May of the academic year listed. Data last updated January 16, 2025.

Educator preparation program improvement goals for the upcoming program year |
Goal #1 |
In order to fully address the integrating of cultural proficiency and anti-racism that includes intersectionality of race, ethnicity, class, gender identity and expression, sexual identity, and the impact of language acquisition and literacy development on learning within each program along with common tools of assessment we will do the following: Review curriculum, mapping where this instruction is occurring, assuring that it is scaffolded throughout each program along with specific assessments, including the implementation into practice. |

Increase the focus and assessment of candidates knowledge around social emotional learning and the connection between theory to practice. |
Goal #3 |
Analyze data gathered from new assessments on our candidates ability to engage and communicate with families/communities in order to foster relationships to assure that the data is providing us with the information we are seeking. |

Goal #1 |
Revisit the Education Unit Mission statement to make sure that it is reflective of our focus on creating reflective leaders in our schools and communities with an emphasis on equity and social justices |
Goal #2 |
Update our assessment system to gather data so that we can self evaluate the level of impact our courses, field experiences, and practicum have on our preparing anti-racist teachers. |
Goal #3 |
Participate in the AAQEP (Association for Advancing Quality Educator Preparation) National approval process. |

Goal #1 |
Creating anti-racist teachers and leaders: Following numerous self-awareness sessions and trainings, teacher candidate completers will demonstrate knowledge and skills of an anti-racist teacher and leader or evidence through practicum observations and an exit survey. |
Goal #2 |
Create pathways with the Community Colleges and local high school to encourage teaching opportunities and increase teacher candidates that are representative of our students within the community. |
Goal #3 |
Creating systems to ensure field experiences cover the full range of the academic year, starting earlier in the semester so that candidates experience the start of school or the recent return from winter break. |
