Annual Goals

This report lists the annual improvement goals reported to ESE in the educator preparation program provider’s state annual report. Providers may report up to three goals for the upcoming year and are asked to report on progress made toward the prior year’s goals. Annual goals are reported in May of the academic year listed.
Data last updated January 16, 2025.

Annual Goals - 2023
Goal #1 A focus for the newly created Advisory Council will be to hear the feedback from the stakeholders and address their suggestions. The division will communicate new and timely program information with the stakeholders at planned meetings in the upcoming academic year.
Goal #2 The division will continue to assess the types of MTEL preparation needs for our students. MTEL activities have included: assigning vouchers to students for particular assessments after completion of a related course, implementing a weekend MTEL Boot Camp, and providing video and review resources to students. These activities will be evaluated to determine if they are continued or if any changes are needed.
Goal #3 The division is focusing on including culturally relevant practices in current syllabi. A subgroup is identifying resources for each division member to use when updating syllabi. The subgroup is also creating a plan to determine the process and timetable for addressing each of the syllabi.

Annual Goals - 2022
Goal #1 Create an advisory council for school partners that will meet yearly to assess our partnerships and get feedback on ways we can better serve the needs of our local districts. The advisory council will consist of superintendents, principals, instructional leaders and supervising practitioners.
Goal #2 Systematically use stateholder survey data for continuous improvement. The practicum director will analyze and summarize survey data and present it at the first Division meeting of the year, including a plan of action.
Goal #3 Revise advising sheets and licensure forms so it is more clear what is expected at each stage of the program and so that advising is more consistent across programs.

Annual Goals - 2021
Goal #1 Goal # 1: (Identified under the "Candidate" domain) Continue to design and implement the use of an MTEL community group, which will be used to house resources for MTEL preparation, study guides, job, opportunities, licensure requirements, etc. It will be managed in a classroom in our learning management software, Moodle, and will be accessible to all Education Students.
Goal #2 Develop a schedule for reform of curriculum to emphasize instruction on special populations, social justice, and anti-bias frames, with tiered completion goals. (Continuous Improvement)
Goal #3 Successful completion and acceptance of the Administrative program proposal and planning for a Fall 2022 launch. (Continuous improvement, Instruction)
