Annual Goals - 2023
Goal #1 We will continue to use and introduce the Field Base Experience (FBE) journal. Using the connections to course reflective assignments and guiding questions around the Professional Standards for Teachers (PST.) We believe this journal will allow the teacher candidates to look back on their journey toward their practicum - and a stepping tool towards their professional practice goal during their practicum.
Goal #2 This past academic year, we have finalized our courses that will lead to an endorsement of Autism - and have started the process to have the courses approved through the colleges' curriculum committee. We have continued the conversation with Quincy Public Schools and added that discussion to our neighboring school districts - Braintree, Brockton, Weymouth, and Randolph to survey the need to provide classes and support to their teachers. This year, we hope to finalize the process with DESE and start offering courses and a method of endorsement in Autism.
Goal #3 The ENC faculty will continue to develop practical Gateway assessments to use with our teacher candidates, providing feedback about areas for improvement and areas of strength as they prepare for the practicum experience. To help in this process, we will recreate the partnership panel with reorientations from our partner schools to assist us in improving our student experience within their building. We are working on developing a partnership with Boston Public Schools to offer college courses for entering high school seniors. This partnership is also at its beginning stages for Quincy Public Schools. We are finalizing a new partnership for paraprofessionals (para-to-teacher pipeline) in the Quincy school district wishing to obtain a teacher's initial license.

Annual Goals - 2022

Annual Goals - 2021
Goal #1 Students will develop an electronic FBE journal that will be used and maintained throughout the course of their teacher preparation program. Using questions designed for the FBEs and found in the Prepracticum Handbook and in the Student Teaching Handbook, students will reflect on their experiences in their FBEs and use what they are learning to improve their practice. The particular focus of the reflections will be on the following PST: -Designs effective and rigorous standards-based units of instruction consisting of well-structured lessons with measurable outcomes.
Goal #2 Using the Assessment and Curriculum classes as a vehicle, students will develop and use: a variety of informal and formal methods of assessment to measure student learning, growth, and understanding, develop differentiated and enhanced learning experiences, and improve future instruction.
Goal #3 The ENC faculty will continue to develop effective Gateway assessments to use with our candidates, providing feedback to them about areas for improvement and areas of strength as they prepare for the practicum experience.
