Annual Goals

This report lists the annual improvement goals reported to ESE in the educator preparation program provider’s state annual report. Providers may report up to three goals for the upcoming year and are asked to report on progress made toward the prior year’s goals. Annual goals are reported in May of the academic year listed.
Data last updated October, 04 2023.

Annual Goals - 2022
Goal #1 Develop avenues for students to develop their own support networks in their coursework that includes students both beginning and finishing their licensure requirements. Support advanced students in their mentoring of others.
Goal #2 Strengthen cooperating teacher connections at both the elementary and secondary levels.
Goal #3 Faculty will work together to support several education faculty in new roles.

Annual Goals - 2021
Goal #1 Plan and initiate shared teaching among faculty teaching elementary and secondary teacher education courses in the Wellesley College track. This will serve both to promote a new setting for faculty learning from each other (mutual learning and collaboration is already very good), and will allow an eventual transition as one faculty member heads toward retirement.
Goal #2 Pilot College support for graduates beginning new teaching jobs in AY 2021-22. We are mindful of this opportunity for next year especially because some student teachers had practicums that were entirely online. Some candidates' schools will themselves likely provide excellent mentoring support, but other schools perhaps less so. We want to see if we can provide practical means of assistance to those graduates who might benefit.
Goal #3 NA

Annual Goals - 2020
Goal #1 Our main efforts are going to be to adapt our teacher education courses and field work to the new conditions caused by the pandemic. We anticipate that some of these courses will be taught online, and we have much work to do to make our courses as valuable to students as possible.
Goal #2 Our main efforts are going to be to adapt our teacher education field work to the new conditions caused by the pandemic. We will be working with schools and mentors to adapt to the new conditions and modes of instruction in the schools.
Goal #3 N/A
