Annual Goals
This report lists the annual improvement goals reported to ESE in the educator preparation program provider’s state annual report. Providers may report up to three goals for the upcoming year and are asked to report on progress made toward the prior year’s goals. Annual goals are reported in May of the academic year listed.

Educator preparation program improvement goals for the upcoming program year |
| Goal #1 |
Plan and initiate shared teaching among faculty teaching elementary and secondary teacher education courses in the Wellesley College track. This will serve both to promote a new setting for faculty learning from each other (mutual learning and collaboration is already very good), and will allow an eventual transition as one faculty member heads toward retirement. |
| Goal #2 |
Pilot College support for graduates beginning new teaching jobs in AY 2021-22. We are mindful of this opportunity for next year especially because some student teachers had practicums that were entirely online. Some candidates' schools will themselves likely provide excellent mentoring support, but other schools perhaps less so. We want to see if we can provide practical means of assistance to those graduates who might benefit. |

| Goal #1 |
Our main efforts are going to be to adapt our teacher education courses and field work to the new conditions caused by the pandemic. We anticipate that some of these courses will be taught online, and we have much work to do to make our courses as valuable to students as possible. |

Our main efforts are going to be to adapt our teacher education field work to the new conditions caused by the pandemic. We will be working with schools and mentors to adapt to the new conditions and modes of instruction in the schools. |

We have received a grant for a research program to learn from first-generation students how we can make our teacher education programs more accessible. Our goal is to carry out this research, to make corresponding changes, and to get further feedback. |
