This report lists the annual improvement goals reported to ESE in the educator preparation program provider’s state annual report. Providers may report up to three goals for the upcoming year and are asked to report on progress made toward the prior year’s goals. Annual goals are reported in May of the academic year listed. Goal #1
Design and implement the use of an MTEL community group, which will be used to house resources for MTEL preparation, study guides, job opportunities, licensure requirements, etc. It will be managed in a classroom in our learning management software, Moodle, and will be accessible to all Education Students.
Goal #2
We intend to increase the number of minority teacher candidates we lead to admission and enrollment by actively recruiting and utilizing resources from the new Center for Equity in Urban Education. We will create more robust support systems and more active advising for minority candidates. Curriculum will be diversified as well to incorporate the modeling of anti-bias curriculum/materials, and to improve curriculum in a way that supports and fosters social activism and advocacy.
Goal #3
We will develop more online resources for our teacher candidates, both to make the programming more flexible for adult learners, but also to provide a model for PK-12 teachers who have had to convert to online learning during the 2020 global pandemic.

Goal #1
Partnerships with Holyoke, Chicopee, and Springfield Public Schools will be formalized and fully implemented.
Goal #2
The expanded undergraduate pre-practicum experience will be piloted in fall 2019.
Goal #3
An additional MTEL prep module in Foundations of Reading will be initiated and evaluated.
