Annual Goals

This report lists the annual improvement goals reported to ESE in the educator preparation program provider’s state annual report. Providers may report up to three goals for the upcoming year and are asked to report on progress made toward the prior year’s goals. Annual goals are reported in May of the academic year listed.

Annual Goals - 2021
Goal #1 Students will develop an electronic FBE journal that will be used and maintained throughout the course of their teacher preparation program. Using questions designed for the FBEs and found in the Prepracticum Handbook and in the Student Teaching Handbook, students will reflect on their experiences in their FBEs and use what they are learning to improve their practice. The particular focus of the reflections will be on the following PST: -Designs effective and rigorous standards-based units of instruction consisting of well-structured lessons with measurable outcomes.
Goal #2 Using the Assessment and Curriculum classes as a vehicle, students will develop and use: a variety of informal and formal methods of assessment to measure student learning, growth, and understanding, develop differentiated and enhanced learning experiences, and improve future instruction.
Goal #3 The ENC faculty will continue to develop effective Gateway assessments to use with our candidates, providing feedback to them about areas for improvement and areas of strength as they prepare for the practicum experience.

Annual Goals - 2020
Goal #1 The ENC faculty will continue to develop effective Gateway assessments to use with our candidates, providing feedback to them about areas for improvement and areas of strength as they prepare fro the practicum experience.
Goal #2 The faculty of the Teacher Education Program will continue to work with content faculty in the college to strengthen/update the SMK content knowledge for candidates as they prepare to enter the teaching profession.

Annual Goals - 2019
Goal #1 Recognizing the importance of Social/Emotional issues that students in PreK-12 schools are facing, the goal is to think more strategically about how to increase the coverage of the competency in program coursework to more thoroughly address the Social/Emotional PST: Social and Emotional Learning Indicator: Employs a variety of strategies to assist students to develop social emotional-competencies: self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship skills, and responsible decision-making and provide candidates a knowledge base to use for addressing students' needs in this area. One strategy we will look to use is partnering with SEAM to offer workshops for our students on SEL topics
Goal #2 Goal: To strengthen candidates' ability to meet the diverse needs of their students we will: 1. work closely with PSs to support candidate growth in strategies to address the needs of students 2. Work with SPs during CAP training to increase their knowledge of strategies to use with candidates for addressing the diverse needs of students
Goal #3 Goal: continue to work on strengthening the current partnerships that we have established
