Annual Goals

This report lists the annual improvement goals reported to ESE in the educator preparation program provider’s state annual report. Providers may report up to three goals for the upcoming year and are asked to report on progress made toward the prior year’s goals. Annual goals are reported in May of the academic year listed.

Annual Goals - 2020
Goal #1 We will revise the rubrics that we use to assess the e-portfolios that teacher candidates create during the practicum so that the portfolios provide more explicit evidence of student performance with respect to the six essential elements.
Goal #2 While we continue to be small "p" partners with several other districts, we will focus on building a more robust relationship with Norton, our official capital "P" partner, by working together on staffing, practicum design, and evidence of effectiveness.
Goal #3 We will implement and assess pre-practicum gateway assessments in each program.

Annual Goals - 2019
Goal #1 Our new hire will co-coordinate the ECE/ ELM licensure programs as well as focus on Special Education and STEM course development. Our goal is to mentor our new hire regarding state regs, needs of our students, course development, partnerships in the field, the new college curriculum and her scholarship agenda.
Goal #2 We will spend the 2019-2020 year addressing the Findings identified in our formal program approval report. Although were officially approved, due to the lack of our 3 full time faculty members on campus during the school year, we have placed these on our summer 2019 retreat agenda for focused attention during the 2019-2020 year by all full time and adjunct faculty. This is particularly beneficial to our new hire who will join us for the retreat.
Goal #3 During the 2019-2020 school year, we will focus on reviewing our prepracticum requirements and the further use of on site (or video taped) observations as well as consideration of a gateway assessment.

Annual Goals - 2018
Goal #1 We are submitting a proposal recommending the hiring of 3 full time faculty members to replaced anticipated retirements by 3 education faculty members. Our goals for these new positions include a focus on special education, teaching English learners, STEM, literacy and increased supervised fieldwork opportunities for our candidates.
Goal #2 We plan to develop an 'at risk' protocol for identifying and supporting students who are struggling in the licensure programs.
Goal #3 We will focus on social emotional learning and behavior management strategies to better prepare candidates for the practicum.
