Annual Goals

This report lists the annual improvement goals reported to ESE in the educator preparation program provider’s state annual report. Providers may report up to three goals for the upcoming year and are asked to report on progress made toward the prior year’s goals. Annual goals are reported in May of the academic year listed.

Annual Goals - 2020
Goal #1 Analyze and evaluate the effectiveness of the Plus One CPS undergraduate psychology pathway into the MAT program as it initiates in the 2020-2021 AY.
Goal #2 Develop cohesive instructional models and training for Teacher Candidates to prepare them for remote learning and instruction as an increased demand for these skills has become critical to success due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Goal #3 Analyze and evaluate the effectiveness and program impact of two newly implemented courses: EDU 6101 - Critical Issues in Education: Past and Present, and EDU 6102 - Reflection, Community Engagement, and Agency in Education. These courses were developed to improve culturally responsive teaching, culturally and linguistically sustaining practices, and developed to cultivate an activist mindset, and were taught for first time in 2019-2020 AY. Feedback will be reviewed and the courses will be provided as a second iteration in the 2020-2021 AY.

Annual Goals - 2019
Goal #1 Review and revise course requirements and admissions policies to ensure regulatory compliance with the 2020-2021 Subject Matter Knowledge Standard requirements.
Goal #2 Refine pre-practicum Gateway assessments and rubrics to ensure full compliance with expectations across teacher preparation programs.
Goal #3 Expand model of co-taught methods courses (K-12 partner faculty and teacher preparation faculty) to elementary methods courses.

Annual Goals - 2018
Goal #1 Review and revise early field work/pre-practicum requirements and benchmarks to ensure alignment with pending ESE Guidelines.
Goal #2 Implement program changes and enhancements based on findings from Faculty Innovations Grant in Diversity and Academic Excellence Grant and on-going program assessment efforts.
Goal #3 Review and revise the Graduate School of Education strategic plan to respond to shifts in internal and regulatory/accreditation requirements.
