Annual Goals

This report lists the annual improvement goals reported to ESE in the educator preparation program provider’s state annual report. Providers may report up to three goals for the upcoming year and are asked to report on progress made toward the prior year’s goals. Annual goals are reported in May of the academic year listed.

Annual Goals - 2020
Goal #1 Goal:We are providing professional development for mentor teachers around a set of mentoring activities for making practice explicit. This set of activities includes modeling practice and providing meaningful feedback during the moments of teaching so the resident can quickly think through the feedback and respond by revising their teaching moves in the moment.
Goal #2 Goal: We are working to design school -wide structures to support the skills and habits of residents to use multiple sources of data to improve student engagement and learning. E.g. Child study, Common Planning times, Strategic Planning for Academic Achievement ( SPA) Days.
Goal #3 Goal: We continue to implement structures and approaches to make the best use of multiple adults in a classroom (mentor and novice teacher) in the service of student learning.

Annual Goals - 2018
Goal #1 We are providing professional development for mentor teachers around explicit mentoring activities for making practice explicit, modeling practice and providing meaningful feedback during moments of teaching- real time feedback to try in the moment.
Goal #2 We have examined our expected outcomes for graduation strategically identified core practices for residency year. Residents are assessed on these core practices.
Goal #3 We are experimenting with transferrable structures and approaches to make the best use of multiple adults in a classroom (mentor and novice teacher) in the service of student learning.
