Annual Goals
This report lists the annual improvement goals reported to ESE in the educator preparation program provider’s state annual report. Providers may report up to three goals for the upcoming year and are asked to report on progress made toward the prior year’s goals. Annual goals are reported in May of the academic year listed. Data last updated October, 04 2023.

Goal #1 |
Domains: Continuous Improvement and Instruction (PSTs) - Completers have the pedagogical skills to be effective in the licensure role (in particular prepared to teach ELs). |
Goal #3 |
Domain: Field Based Experiences - Supervising Practitioners and Program Supervisors receive training, support, and development throughout the year. |

Goal #1 |
Consider all of the external forces impacting Educator Preparation (Pre-practicum guidelines, SMK guidelines, Socio-Emotional Learning, Digital Literacy and Survey data). Review the course of study for each of our approved programs and make changes to the curriculum and/or individual courses as appropriate based on this analysis. |
Goal #2 |
Strengthen ongoing partnerships by meeting with stakeholders a minimum of twice a year. Develop additional partnerships as appropriate based on the needs of districts and/or individual Springfield College programs. |
Goal #3 |
Meet at least twice with admissions and program recruitment liaisons to strategize ways to increase recruitment efforts and increase the overall number of teacher and counselor candidates enrolled. |

Goal #1 |
Convene stakeholder and practicum advisory committees 3-4 times. Provide a forum for discussion about: 1. What's working, what's not; 2. Needs of various districts/schools, specific teaching field; 3. Brainstorm possible changes/additions to strengthen SC educator preparation programs; 4. Ask the question, "Are our teacher/counselor candidates who successfully complete our programs ready to teach/counsel day one?" |
Goal #2 |
Take data from all surveys and the final (summative) CAP and analyze. Convene EPC and EPLC to identify trends in the data and determine what should be celebrated, strengthened, or substantially changed. |
Goal #3 |
Meet 2-3 times with admissions, enrollment management personnel, and individuals in departments who are leading recruitment efforts to review data. Detail all recruitment efforts being made for undergraduate and graduate programs, especially efforts to increase the number of students of color. Explain/describe the successes, challenges and identify additional strategies. |
