Annual Goals
This report lists the annual improvement goals reported to ESE in the educator preparation program provider’s state annual report. Providers may report up to three goals for the upcoming year and are asked to report on progress made toward the prior year’s goals. Annual goals are reported in May of the academic year listed. Data last updated October, 04 2023.

Educator preparation program improvement goals for the upcoming program year |
Goal #1 |
We look forward to the implementation of the updated MA Visual Arts Framework in the fall and will explore ways to engage students with learning about and using these new standards. |
Goal #2 |
We will create new training programs for the larger cohort of Supervising Practitioners and Program Supervisors that will be joining our program this fall. |
Goal #3 |
We will revise the Current Issues class running this fall to focus on contemporary art and practice, in addition to other pertinent issues in Art Education. |

Goal #1 |
We will continue to work on developing our partnerships and respond to the needs of PK-12 districts/schools. In particular, we will focus on partnering with schools and districts in diverse communities. |
Goal #2 |
We will continue to refine our program, this year reviewing our curriculum and making sure connections are made and deepened across all courses. We will integrate CAP into all levels of the program and use it for observations and assessment prior to pre-practicum. We will continue to focus on meeting the needs of diverse learners and strengthen our students' understanding and experience of supporting ELLs. |

As our program grows, we aim to meet the needs of our students by securing quality partnerships, practicum sites, and mentors for this larger cohort. |

Educator preparation program improvement goals from the prior year |
Goal #1 |
We transitioned from an add-on license program to a BFA in Art Education. With this transition comes opportunities to refine our goals and strengthen our program. We continue to work toward improving our Art Education program. |
Goal #2 |
We will work toward supporting the academic needs of our student body. We have focused on student advising this year and will continue to develop the support systems for our diverse learners, including faculty development and communication. |
Goal #3 |
With a larger cohort coming into our program we need to add more supervising practitioners and field sites to our network on the North Shore. We aim to expand our partnerships with local supervising practitioners, schools and districts. |
