Annual Goals

This report lists the annual improvement goals reported to ESE in the educator preparation program provider’s state annual report. Providers may report up to three goals for the upcoming year and are asked to report on progress made toward the prior year’s goals. Annual goals are reported in May of the academic year listed.

Annual Goals - 2017
Goal #1 Increase enrollment across all educator preparation programs, and continue developing new programs that meet demonstrated need across the Commonwealth. We are currently developing a new program in Autism that would lead to Autism Endorsement.
Goal #2 Wheelock recently established a graduate advisory board and administered a graduate student satisfaction survey to begin the process of strengthening resources and services for candidates in post-baccalaureate programs, with the goal of increasing enrollment, and improving candidate satisfaction and their readiness to teach.
Goal #3 Continue to develop new partnerships and strengthen existing partnerships with school districts and child care providers; increase effective communication with outside communities and organizations to assist with program effectiveness and further strengthen our partnerships.

Annual Goals - 2016
Goal #1 Evaluate and modify advising and preparation for MTELs. Increase and improve offerings for MTEL preparation sessions to increase pass rates. Identify common points in respective program to advise candidates on when to take MTELs.
Goal #2 Implement CAP for all initial licensure program beyond pilot period; effectively train program supervisors and supervising practitioners in CAP; implement new PSTs into programs and coursework; review and update courses as needed to increase program effectiveness.
Goal #3 Increase enrollment and increase number of completers in high need areas that are traditionally a strength at Wheelock: Moderate Disabilities, Early Childhood, and Reading through expanding partnerships with districts, communicating more effectively with outside communities and organizations, and improving program effectiveness.
