Annual Goals

This report lists the annual improvement goals reported to ESE in the educator preparation program provider’s state annual report. Providers may report up to three goals for the upcoming year and are asked to report on progress made toward the prior year’s goals. Annual goals are reported in May of the academic year listed.

Annual Goals - 2017
Goal #1 Identify new documents that will be helpful to collect to demonstrate improvement of practice for preservice teachers and teacher candidates.
Goal #2 Assign an in-depth measure of student learning that is designed, constructed, implemented, analyzed and evaluated by teacher candidate that will be graphically displayed and used as significant evidence for being a teacher candidate ready to teach day one.
Goal #3 Every 10 observations completed in the Math Clinic will be scored on a 50-point rubric to determine implementation of evidence-based practice covered in course work.

Annual Goals - 2016
Goal #1 Implementation of syllabi that has been newly aligned with the Professional Standards for Teachers in all content areas.
Goal #2 Implement the Candidate Assessment Performance for all teacher candidates in all content areas
Goal #3 Increase the number of teacher candidates in high need areas

Progress Toward Goals - 2016
Goal #1 Data collection implemented in a systematic way that allow collection of documents that support best practices. This documentation will help professors assess changes that need to be made.
Goal #2 Intentional teaching emphasized as college professors participate in public school classrooms with preservice teachers helping them make connections between college courses and classroom practice.
Goal #3 Supervising Practitioners and Program Supervisors enjoy using a common language based on the mentoring course provided. The email dialogue in the course between SPs. and PSs adds to the experience in solidifying the same language.

Annual Goals - 2015
Goal #1 Develop a new and more effective data collection system
Goal #2 Continue to develop communication strategies with partner schools to provide a seamless transition between college courses to classroom practice
Goal #3 Professors will develop a protocol for working with teacher candidates so all candidates will be receiving the feedback using the same language

Progress Toward Goals - 2015
Goal #1 A new way of collecting data has been instituted. Work continues on continually refining the data collection to meet specific needs.
Goal #2 Met with principals and supervising practitioners to learn from each other and refine teacher preparation in order to provide a seamless transition from college courses to classroom practice.
Goal #3 Provided online course for supervising practitioners that used the same vocabulary teacher candidates were using with program supervisors. Program Supervisors worked individually with supervising practitioners for accessing & evaluating teacher candidates.
