Annual Goals

This report lists the annual improvement goals reported to ESE in the educator preparation program provider’s state annual report. Providers may report up to three goals for the upcoming year and are asked to report on progress made toward the prior year’s goals. Annual goals are reported in May of the academic year listed.

Annual Goals - 2017
Goal #1 ENC will continue to work on strengthening the partnerships and look at the possibility of expanding it to include a local high school.
Goal #2 To strengthen candidates' content knowledge connections with the Curriculum Frameworks.
Goal #3 Focus on developing candidates' skills to more fully and effectively address the learning needs of ELL students.

Annual Goals - 2016
Goal #1 ENC will continue to work on strengthening the partnerships that are currently in place and look at the possibility of adding a high school.
Goal #2 ENC will continue to focus on developing strategies to recruit and admit a diverse candidate pool.
Goal #3 ENC will continue to develop strategies for enhancing the CAP process for Candidates and Supervising Practitioners.

Progress Toward Goals - 2016
Goal #1 We continue to hold PD sessions with candidates who are student teaching and their SPs. Two are scheduled for the Spring 2017 semester.
Goal #2 We continue to attend the Red Carpet Days recruiting candidates to the Teacher Education Program. We also meet with the Director of Admissions to strategize for recruiting, particularly emphasizing growing the diverse candidate pool.
Goal #3 We held two CAP Trainings one in August and one in January. We will solicit feedback from those who participated and make adjustments based on the data we receive.

Annual Goals - 2015
Goal #1 ENC has had a strong informal partnership with a local school district. The Division of Teacher Education will work to develop an MOU to formalize a partnership with a group of elementary schools to be implemented during the 2015-2016 academic year.
Goal #2 During the 2013-2014 Academic year, the Division of Teacher education developed and implement 3 common assessment rubrics to use for evaluating student work (Common assessments Unit Rubric, Common Writing Rubric, Common Oral Presentation Rubric). We will continue to evaluate the implementation of the rubrics and make adjustments/changes based on feedback from faculty.
Goal #3 To enhance the recruitment of students to the education program, we will develop materials for the Education webpage that highlights the Eastern Nazarene College Teacher Education Program: Interviews with two to three graduates currently working in the field, materials that can be used for MTEL preparation, and a list of programs ENC offers that are in high need areas.

Progress Toward Goals - 2015
Goal #1 ENC has put in place an MOU with our partner schools. During the Fall and Spring semesters we held meetings of the students teachers and faculty from the partner school focusing on the use of technology in the classroom. Some teachers from the partner schools who do not have student teachers also attended the meetings.
Goal #2 We continue to use the Common Assessments that were developed and revise them as needed.
Goal #3 In cooperation with the Marketing Department, an Education Fact Sheet and e-book have been developed that highlight the ENC Teacher Education Program.
