Annual Goals

This report lists the annual improvement goals reported to ESE in the educator preparation program provider’s state annual report. Providers may report up to three goals for the upcoming year and are asked to report on progress made toward the prior year’s goals. Annual goals are reported in May of the academic year listed.

Annual Goals - 2017
Goal #1 To add more classroom-based "pre-practicum" experience during the initial stage of the program
Goal #2 To add a more extensive community immersion experience during the initial stage of the program curriculum (to address better the Cultural Proficiency Standard).
Goal #3 To continue developing a recruitment plan to diversify the student body (an ongoing goal)

Annual Goals - 2016
Goal #1 To develop a strategic recruitment plan to diversify the student body
Goal #2 To conduct school based reviews of the program in at least two partner schools.
Goal #3 To better support students to meet the requirement for full responsibility of the role, particularly at the secondary level.

Progress Toward Goals - 2016
Goal #1 We have explored several strategic initiatives: by hosting a session for local high school students interested in coming to Clark; by recruiting and mentoring students from neighborhood schools who come to Clark; by recruiting and mentoring undergraduate students of color by Education faculty of color; by establishing a scholarship for a neighborhood student of color. We have applied for a grant from our Office of Diversity and Inclusion to support a session for high school students. We were able to provide a scholarship to a neighborhood students recently accepted into the program. Work on this goal is ongoing.
Goal #2 The director has met with different partner school principals for more in-depth conversations. Our preparation for the state program review this past year has also generated a great deal of feedback and data that has informed our program development.
Goal #3 We have had discussions with Supervising Practitioners at each school site, and with principals as appropriate. We have a good mutual understanding within our programs of how to meet this requirement.

Annual Goals - 2015
Goal #1 Incorporate the new PST/Family and Community engagement standard.
Goal #2 Increase program feedback from partners.
