Annual Goals

This report lists the annual improvement goals reported to ESE in the educator preparation program provider’s state annual report. Providers may report up to three goals for the upcoming year and are asked to report on progress made toward the prior year’s goals. Annual goals are reported in May of the academic year listed.

Annual Goals - 2016
Goal #1 We plan to continue building and expanding our partnerships with several area schools,, in particular offering more support to teachers and more effectively engaging our students in selected schools.
Goal #2 We plan to revise some coursework to get our students more actively engaged in analyzing student data, and reflecting on implementation of lessons that meet needs of all students.
Goal #3 Our third goal revolves around implementation of CAP, particularly improving clarity of communication for students and supervising practitioners, and developing an electronic system for data collection and sharing of CAP-related resources.

Annual Goals - 2015
Goal #1 Create a curriculum map to support implementation of new PST
Goal #2 Improve secondary program documentation (Hired new faculty)
Goal #3 Create better communication for all ED majors and minors regarding licensure

Progress Toward Goals - 2015
Goal #1 We have initiated discussions with content faculty, and have started to create a grid to show where content is covered in which courses.
Goal #2 We have revised the prepracticum guidelines and created more specific field-based assignments (beyond observation).
Goal #3 We have added to our department page website as an easily accessible source. However our institution is in redesigning the University website, we will have to repost using the new format when it is available.

Annual Goals - 2014
Goal #1 Continue to improve our prepracticum assignments to better reflect PPA Standards.
Goal #2 Clearly communicate about ELL requirement and analyze effectiveness of the ELL courses.
Goal #3 Continue to identify resources for UDL and effectively implement in field experiences and methods courses.

Progress Toward Goals - 2014
Goal #1 Have revised guidelines for some Ed courses, still revising others.
Goal #2 SEL endorsement courses offered, added to program handouts, evaluation to be conducted
Goal #3 Added UDL to LA 100 and ED 120; also integrated into SEL coursework
