Annual Goals

This report lists the annual improvement goals reported to ESE in the educator preparation program provider’s state annual report. Providers may report up to three goals for the upcoming year and are asked to report on progress made toward the prior year’s goals. Annual goals are reported in May of the academic year listed.

Annual Goals - 2016
Goal #1 Successful faculty search for the Assistant Professor of Special Education position
Goal #2 Successful search for the Director of School Counseling Program position
Goal #3 Effective transition to CAP and full integration of the new PST

Annual Goals - 2015
Goal #1 Continue development of a 9th semester option for practicum for those students who do not pass the requisite MTEL exams in time for traditional 8th semester.
Goal #2 Faculty search to replace Special Education Tenure Track Position
Goal #3 Work to integrate the new PSTs/TPA toward trial of spring 2016

Progress Toward Goals - 2015
Goal #1 The 9th semester option for practicum for those students who do not pass the requisite MTEL is still under consideration.
Goal #2 The faculty search was not successful. The search was re-open.
Goal #3 The new PSTs were integrated into curriculum as appropriate. 10 teacher candidates in English, 8-12 (Baccalaureate) and Moderate Disabilities (Post-Bacc.) programs are participating in the CAP pilot in the spring.

Annual Goals - 2014
Goal #1 Implementation of Education Major. Work with cooperating departments to ensure smooth transition to Elementary Education Tracks
Goal #2 Development of 9th semester student teaching practicum to provide opportunity for non-passing MTEL students.
Goal #3 Begin development of post-bacc program as Master of Education degree (long-term project)

Progress Toward Goals - 2014
Goal #1 Education Major was successfully integrated in AY 2014-2015
Goal #2 The project was put on hold for one year so that the department could focus on implementation of the new Education Major.
Goal #3 Still in progress.
