Annual Goals
This report lists the annual improvement goals reported to ESE in the educator preparation program provider’s state annual report. Providers may report up to three goals for the upcoming year and are asked to report on progress made toward the prior year’s goals. Annual goals are reported in May of the academic year listed.

Goal #1 |
Refine the integration of MAPAL criteria in the curriculum, instruction, practicum, and portfolio to utilize and enhance PAL tasks as a learning tool for future leaders. |
Goal #2 |
Provide focused instruction for mentors and supervisors about MAPAL expectations to strengthen their support for LLP candidates. |
Goal #3 |
With our partners and supervisors, obtain feedback about how to best implement MAPAL expectations in the field. Use this data to continue MAPAL integration through LLP. |

Goal #1 |
To implement the goal of refining the integration of MAPAL criteria within the curriculum, instruction, practicum, and portfolio, each instructor reviewed and adjusted curriculum and assignments to reflect the MAPAL expectations as found in the MAPAL September, 2015 Candidates' Assessment In addition, the portfolio was also rewritten to include components of each MAPAL task, aligning these with the State administrative standards and indicators. Mentors and supervisors were encouraged to assist candidates integrates MAPAL expectations within the practicum at each school site. |
Goal #2 |
To provide focused instruction for mentors and supervisors about PAL. At the annual Orientation meeting, attended by all mentors and supervisors, the LLP Coordinator used the MAPAL Administrators Field Guide to provide direct instruction about the components of each task required of candidates. This instruction continued at a December meeting. |
Goal #3 |
Meeting in January, 2016 with our partner school district, the LLP Coordinator presented current practice of the program as it integrated MAPAL expectations. The discussion resulted in redesigning some LLP documents and protocols refining the integration of MAPAL into our program. |

Goal #1 |
Working in tandem with our provider of instruction, Teachers21, a thorough assessment of curriculum was conducted which resulted in a more robust integration of the MAPAL tasks into the LLP curriculum. |
Goal #2 |
An incredible amount of time has been dedicated to complete review of the Mentor/Supervisor guidebook with guidance and assistance from our program partner. The resulting changes have given current Mentors/Supervisors the proper guidance and information to assist them in their oversight of our candidates. |
Goal #3 |
Through discussions and meetings with our supervisors and mentors our guidebook regarding the integration of MAPAL into the practicum has been significantly impacted. Thoughtful discussion and meaningful suggestions have lead to comprehensive changes in our guidebook. These changes will assist current mentors/supervisors and new ones in guiding their candidate to appropriate experiences that will help in their completion of the LLP program and the MAPAL tasks. |
