Annual Goals
This report lists the annual improvement goals reported to ESE in the educator preparation program provider’s state annual report. Providers may report up to three goals for the upcoming year and are asked to report on progress made toward the prior year’s goals. Annual goals are reported in May of the academic year listed.

Educator preparation program improvement goals for the upcoming program year |
Goal #1 |
An action plan for aligning the new Professional Standards for Teachers with the coursework required for each program will be developed and carried out over the next year. |
Goal #2 |
The Educator Preparation Council diversity subcommittee will work to implement one or more strategies identified. |
Goal #3 |
Springfield College will continue to work with Springfield Public Schools to recruit and retain teachers of record with an initial license in the shortage areas of mathematics, science and special education. |

Goal #1 |
Convene the Springfield College Educator Preparation Council to identify at least two ways to strengthen the system in place to collect and analyze data used to make continuous improvements to programs. |
Goal #2 |
Establish a diversity subcommittee that will meet with admissions to identify at least 2 strategies aimed at increasing the enrollment of diverse teacher candidates. |
Goal #3 |
Develop a sustainability plan for the Springfield College/Springfield Public Schools partnership program to increase the number of teachers of record with an initial license in the shortage areas, math, science and special education. |

Goal #1 |
The Educator Preparation Council and the Educator Preparation Leadership Council have identified additional data needed and established a protocol for reviewing/analyzing data in order to make continuous improvements to programs. |
Goal #2 |
A diversity subcommittee was established and met to identify a number of strategies aimed at increasing the enrollment of diverse teacher candidates. |
Goal #3 |
A Memorandum of Understanding was signed by Springfield College (SC) and Springfield Public Schools (SPS) that details how SPS will work together with SC to increase the number of teachers of record with an initial license in the shortage areas of math, science and special education. |

Educator preparation program improvement goals from the prior year |
Goal #1 |
Over 90% of our program completers will successfully provide evidence for all of the new SEI related indicators that are part of the professional standards for teachers found on the preservice performance assessment. |
Goal #2 |
Over 90% of our initial teacher licensure candidates who do a practicum will successfully complete the new SEI course and get the SEI endorsement. |
Goal #3 |
Over 90% of our students enrolled in a licensure program who fail one or more MTEL test will have one on one contact with our MTEL coordinator. |

Goal #1 |

90% of our initial teacher licensure candidates who did a practicum successfully completed the SEI course and will be endorsed for the SEI endorsement. |
Goal #3 |
Over 90% of the students enrolled in a licensure program who failed one or more MTEL were contacted by the MTEL coordinator, provided resources, test prep materials and recommended to meet with the MTEL coordinator. The coordinator communicated back and forth with over 50% of these students. |
