Annual Goals

This report lists the annual improvement goals reported to ESE in the educator preparation program provider’s state annual report. Providers may report up to three goals for the upcoming year and are asked to report on progress made toward the prior year’s goals. Annual goals are reported in May of the academic year listed.

Annual Goals - 2015
Goal #1 Develop a new and more effective data collection system
Goal #2 Continue to develop communication strategies with partner schools to provide a seamless transition between college courses to classroom practice
Goal #3 Professors will develop a protocol for working with teacher candidates so all candidates will be receiving the feedback using the same language

Annual Goals - 2014
Goal #1 Hire a professor who is a math specialist to review the math program and suggest ways to improve and respond to challenges teacher candidates observe in the field in math.
Goal #2 Identify schools in which the college can further develop the partnerships with schools already begun and who support researched based practices.
Goal #3 Increase preservice placements in culturally diverse settings.

Progress Toward Goals - 2014
Goal #1 A math specialist professor was hired. She reviewed the math program and is implementing improvements in the math courses which include responding to the challenges teacher candidates expressed.
Goal #2 Partnerships have been expanded to districts who support research-based practices.
Goal #3 All students are having a minimum of one experience in a culturally diverse setting.

Annual Goals - 2013
Goal #1 Standard A 2. Provide a nonĀ-licensure track to allow students who are unable to pass the MTEL's to go into educare and afterschool programs by getting the Early Care & Education license.
Goal #2 STANDARD G 1. Give preservice teachers an opportunity to evaluate the program supervisors through development of a questionnaire to be distributed by a student representative to members of the Senior Seminar.
Goal #3 STANDARD H 1. Follow up with teacher candidates near the end of their practicums to find what Career Services they have used and feedback on their experience.

Progress Toward Goals - 2013
Goal #1 Students now have the option to choose a non-licensure track for early childhood and get a license with Early Care & Education to earn an ECE license for early childhood and afterschool care.
Goal #2 Students have the opportunity to evaluate program supervisors in a written questionnaire.
Goal #3 Students are surveyed prior to graduating regarding their use and feedback about career services. Career services is also keeping track of education students using their services.
