Annual Goals

This report lists the annual improvement goals reported to ESE in the educator preparation program provider’s state annual report. Providers may report up to three goals for the upcoming year and are asked to report on progress made toward the prior year’s goals. Annual goals are reported in May of the academic year listed.

Annual Goals - 2015
Goal #1 Self-assess undergraduate and MAT elementary teacher education programs in light of new DESE regulations
Goal #2 Implement new graduate program in teacher leadership
Goal #3 Maintain strong recruitment for post-bacc programs to attract consistent number of high quality candidates.

Annual Goals - 2014
Goal #1 Maintaining improved recruitment for post-bacc program to attract consistent number of high quality candidates.
Goal #2 Introducing a 10 semester BA/MAT program leading to initial teacher licensure at elementary and secondary levels.
Goal #3 Reviewing our bacc and post-bacc courses for Teaching English Language Learners.

Progress Toward Goals - 2014
Goal #1 Continued to have greater number of strong students matriculate in both elementary and secondary MAT programs
Goal #2 10 semester BA/MAT program was approved by graduate school of arts & sciences; 1st cohort will graduate in July; new cohort will matriculate in June
Goal #3 ELL course is offered increased number of semesters and guidelines revised for when undergraduates should take the course

Annual Goals - 2013
Goal #1 Improving recruitment of post-baccalaureate, both quantity and quality of applicants.
Goal #2 Increasing the number of students in baccalaureate programs continuing to practicum.
Goal #3 Launching post-baccalaureate concentrations in mathematics and Chinese.

Progress Toward Goals - 2013
Goal #1 New staff member worked with existing staff to increase outreach and visibility for post-bacc program. Both elementary and secondary post-bacc programs admitted greater number of strong students who matriculated and will complete the program.
Goal #2 Consistent and focused advising of undergraduates resulted in greater numbers of students completing practica: 8 in elementary ed. and 11 in secondary ed.
Goal #3 5 students matriculated and are completing Chinese post-bacc; 2 students matriculated and are completing math post-bacc.
