Annual Goals

This report lists the annual improvement goals reported to ESE in the educator preparation program provider’s state annual report. Providers may report up to three goals for the upcoming year and are asked to report on progress made toward the prior year’s goals. Annual goals are reported in May of the academic year listed.

Annual Goals - 2014
Goal #1 Increase number of candidates in urban settings for pre-practicum and practicum by 10%.
Goal #2 Identify at least one partner for professional licensure programs.
Goal #3 Integrate strategies for using instructional technology and meeting needs of learners with disabilities into all undergraduate ED courses.

Annual Goals - 2013
Goal #1 Identify at least one urban school partner for undergraduate pre-practicum placements.
Goal #2 Identify at least one partner district for post-baccalaureate programs, both initial and professional.
Goal #3 Collaborate with arts & sciences faculty to review and revise required licensure courses in math, science, and history to better align with subject matter knowledge.

Progress Toward Goals - 2013
Goal #1 Due to a search for a new chair, this process slowed. The new chair will begin in August 2014 and has this goal as one of her priorities.

Goal #3 This process continues in conjunction with a revision of the College's core curriculum. Foundational math course has been revised to increase rigor, and science for educators course has been revised to better reflect SMK. Initial offerings of both are in fall 2014.
