Annual Goals

This report lists the annual improvement goals reported to ESE in the educator preparation program provider’s state annual report. Providers may report up to three goals for the upcoming year and are asked to report on progress made toward the prior year’s goals. Annual goals are reported in May of the academic year listed.

Annual Goals - 2014
Goal #1 We are preparing for a NEASC follow-up visit and therefore, responding to questions about the program, collating data, and writing report. We hope to use the data we gather to inform the relationship between the elem ed program, the general core courses, and the other majors at the college.
Goal #2 We are introducing a new elective course: Young Adult Literature. We want to expand the skill-set of students so that they can be introduced to strategies for teaching with more advanced literary works.
Goal #3 We are working on finalizing a video highlighting the elem ed program. It will be the first department to be highlighted on the college's redesigned website. We hope it will attract interested students.

Annual Goals - 2013
Goal #1 Recently, the administration hired a new director of enrollment and management. He is working with faculty to explore strategies to increase enrollment. He will work with the Elementary Education Program staff to identify particular strategies for the elementary education program.
Goal #2 The Student Teaching Handbook will be updated. The last update was 2009.
Goal #3 We will implement the SEI requirements in 2 course syllabi, Teaching Language Arts I and Teaching Language Arts II.

Progress Toward Goals - 2013
