What else should you know about our school?
The mission of the Greenmont Avenue School is to provide a safe, stimulating and nurturing, learning environment for every student to grow academically, emotionally, intellectually and socially.

We believe it is important to nurture the development of the core social skills of responsibility, respect, good communication, active participation, safety and truthfulness. We aim to foster a sense of community commitment and understanding of citizenship and seek to inspire the innate creativity and inquiry in all children so they will become lifelong learners. Our entire district is a Community of Caring district with a focus on Respect, Responsibility, Caring, Trust, and Family.

Our teachers and staff strive each day to differentiate their instruction in order to meet the needs of their diverse learners through the use of programs such as Math Expressions and sound teaching practices with Reading and Writing Workshop. Teachers work collaboratively to review assessment data and use such data to guide/inform their instruction.

The Greenmont faculty also works together utilizing a Response to Intervention (RTI) model in conjunction with our inclusion model, in order to better meet the needs of our students. Teachers and staff set goals for students and with the support of paraprofessionals and Title I Tutors, are working collaboratively to utilize flexible grouping and data collection techniques in order to ensure student success. The Greenmont Gators have also worked to utilize our "Maker Space" and included STEAM activities within the classrooms. Student also have access to various instructional technology tools such as interactive whiteboards, chrome books, and tablets, all used in a wireless environment.

The Greenmont Avenue School as an extremely active and supportive Parent/Teacher Organization (PTO) and School Council who strive to make our community strong.
