Level2
One or more schools in the district classified into Level 2

Most schools are assigned a level from 1-5, with those meeting their proficiency gap-narrowing goals in Level 1 and the lowest performing in Levels 4 and 5. A district is typically assigned a level based on the level of its lowest performing school. Placing schools and districts into levels helps districts know which schools need more support, and helps the state know which districts need the most assistance.

What else should you know about our school?
Every staff member at the C.M. Callahan School is totally committed to providing excellent academics, many happy experiences, and a comprehensive quality education for all of our two hundred five students. All of our staff members are highly qualified and integral to the great success that we have enjoyed every year.

After being named one of only forty-five commendation schools in MA for our impressive 2015 PARCC/MCAS scores, we were slightly humbled by our 2016 results. On deeper inspection, however, we found that as a whole group, we continued to receive excellent scores. It was in the ‘high needs’ category that we noticed some considerable gaps between our students with disabilities and our non-disabled students. The composite index scores for 2016 were 88.5 for ELA, 90.0 for Math, and 92.7 for Science. This Science score is among the best in our state. We must now continue to provide programs that will allow our ‘high needs’ students to improve their scores and reduce the gap between them and our students without ‘high needs’.

We continue to be ranked a Level 1 School with a percentile of 88.
