How is our school doing overall?
Accountability and assistance levels
Our school
Level2
Not meeting gap narrowing goals
Our district
Level2
One or more schools in the district classified into Level 2 - Low assessment participation (Less than 95%)

Most schools are assigned a level from 1-5, with those meeting their proficiency gap-narrowing goals in Level 1 and the lowest performing in Levels 4 and 5. A district is typically assigned a level based on the level of its lowest performing school. Placing schools and districts into levels helps districts know which schools need more support, and helps the state know which districts need the most assistance. More information is available here: http://www.doe.mass.edu/accountability/

What else should you know about our school?
Last year, the percentages of students scoring proficient or advanced on the English Language Arts and Mathematics MCAS tests continue to exceed the statewide averages. 90% of our 8th grade students showed moderate to high growth in mathematics, and 100% of our 10th graders passed the English test. Nevertheless, we are convinced that we can do even better. Please be assured that we are dedicated to improving your child's school and district.

To continue the work of improving student achievement in our school this year, we are partnering with the Massachusetts Math+Science Initiative (MMSI), joining the Virtual High School Collaborative, and implementing a new schedule to provide students with more challenging and varied learning experiences. Due to these changes we increased our enrollment in Advanced Placement (AP) classes from 11 students to 40. We are also changing our progress reporting system to provide students and their parents or guardians with periodic assessments of performance relative to the new school-wide Learning Expectations.
