What else should you know about our school?
The Willett Early Childhood Center houses Norwood Public Schools' 13 kindergarten classrooms, 4 integrated preschool classrooms, and 1 substantially separate preschool classroom. The kindergarten classrooms are led by one teacher and one paraprofessional aide, one of our kindergarten classrooms is a Cooperative Classrooms which is led by a general education teacher, a special education teacher, and one paraprofessional aide. We have a Developmental Learning Center which services students on Individualized Education Plans who need a small group or modified curriculum. Most of our preschool classrooms are integrated and serve a ratio of students that consists of 8 peers with 7 special education students. These classrooms are led by a special education preschool teacher and two paraprofessional aides.

The Willett Early Childhood Center is a busy place with a focus on early literacy and math. We have a fulltime reading specialist at the kindergarten level who both enriches and supports the literacy and reading activities that are done in the classrooms. Our curriculum is aligned to the Common Core and Early Learning Standards.

Our supportive and active PTO generously sponsors many educational and entertaining assemblies by authors, illustrators, singers, and performers. The PTO is also instrumental in funding many projects and activities that support learning in our building.
